The Nigerian Upstream Petroleum Regulatory Commission, ( NUPRC ) in accordance with the PIA 2021 to resolve the Host Community Development Trust ( HCDT) impasse with Ugborodo , Ugbeogungun , Deghele , Dibi , Olero , the Olu of Warri’s Palace, Chevron Nigeria Limited , has rescheduled tomorrow Thursday, 14th December 2023 for a meeting with all stakeholders. |

The Commission Chief Executive , Engr. Gbenga Komolafe , had on the 28th of November 2023 directed the oil-rich Ugborodo communities in Warri South Local Government Area of Delta State and Chevron Nigeria Limited to resolve their dispute within two weeks on the establishment of Host Community Development Trust at the NUPRC Utako Office Abuja .

In a press briefing on Tuesday 12th December held at the NUPRC Warri Regional Office, Engr Dennis Eyitemi , Head HSC, NUPRC Warri said agitation due to factions within host communities has continued to hamper quick resolution of the impasse .

The Head NUPRC Warri Office in a press statement said the NUPRC is not relenting in its commitment to resolve the impasse with host communities and CNL .

He said the commission invited all stakeholders for a meeting on the 11th of December to ascertain progress achieved in line with the commission’s position but the meeting has been rescheduled to 14th December 2023 because CNL staff and representatives of the Olu of Warri were absent .
