In the wake of the gubernatorial and House of Assembly elections, the Smart Workers Alliance (SWA) , a group of civil and public servants in the 25 Local Government Areas of Delta State projecting the Smart Agenda of the Governor to the grassroots, defied the workday to drum support and endorse the victory of Governor Ifeanyi Okowa ahead of the gubernatorial elections in a rally in Asaba, the state's capital city .In the entourage was the coordinator , woman leader and driver of SWA, Comrade Chika Opia, chairman of Smart Workers Alliance, Mr Nkeonyeilo Anthony Nnamdi, Comrade Joseph Egbaju, and other distinguished members.
The coordinator and driver of the group , Comrade Chika Opia expressed gratitude to the Mr Sylvester Ukwandi, CEO Anioma Petroleum Resources Limited for his contribution to the success of SWA . She hinted thelegendng on the unreserved support of the Anioma Petroleum Ltd Boss believing in the mandate of the Smart Workers Alliance (SWA) for the re-election of the Smart Governor, Dr Ifeanyi Okowa .

Comrade Chika Opia said Gov. Okowa is not resting on his oars to transform Delta state into an economic hub for Investors to strive . She said it is the desire and wish of Mr Sylvester Ukwandi to celebrate the return of Gov. Okowa for a second term for continuity and progression of the state hence his commitment to the ideals of the SWA.
The Smart Workers Alliance (SWA) had their rally from the SSG's office through the Head of Civil Service road , the State House of Assembly premises , the state secretariat, the civil service commission, to the PDP campaign office and terminated at Government house Asaba.
The rally which had massive turnout of civil and public servants leveraged on the dividends of Gov. Ifeanyi Okowa and the wealth and job creation encapsulated in his Smart agenda.

The rally which had members of SWA and other dignitaries in attendance enjoyed massive cheers from attendees and onlookers. He said the members of SWA reckon with the developmental achievements of Senator Dr Ifeanyi Okowa despite the down turn of the state’s economy . He said the Governor has performed creditably inspite of paucity of funds .

The Governor must be returned to consolidate on his achievements . He said the entrant of the Governor has turned Delta into a befitting state. He hinted that the Governor has done well in the areas of public servants as he did not retrench staff inspite of a recessive economy neither did he default on regular payment of worker’s salaries . The Chairman said he was magnanimous enough to turn civil servants resident in the Junior Staff Quarters into landlords.
The chairman said the rally was put in place to solicit more votes for the Governor's re-election. Members chanted songs of Okowa's gubernatorial victory for a second term bid . SWA members joyously dispersed at the squash club for light refreshement.
